Eureka (again)!!

We went back up to Eureka to furnish a new apartment (well, three bedroom home really).  Our mission received 21 new missionaries last transfer and will receive 28 more in this week's transfer.  That means about one-third of our mission has been here two transfers or less!  It also means we have many trios (16 to be exact) and we opened up two new areas.  As such, we had to secure two new places and, of course, they are at opposite ends of the mission.  So we headed up to Eureka to outfit one of them and tomorrow we will furnish another in Fairfield.  Our truck is always piled high and stuffed with items - we look like a cheap moving company (and I guess we are).  So many trios added an additional task to ensure each place have enough beds, desks, office chairs and dressers to accommodate them.  On top of that we are moving two other sets of missionaries this coming week and next so we are preparing for that.  Never a dull moment.

The travel up to Eureka is simply beautiful.  We wish we had more time to stay but it was up one day and back the next.  A long trip but the scenery and being with the Elders in Eureka made it worth it.  While there, the 5 Elders who helped us wanted to go to a greasy hamburger place for dinner.  We forget that young men are not picky where they eat - it's all about quantity and less about quality.

We love the drive through the Redwoods up the 101

But you never know what is in the forest

Like this guy (the middle one)

Or these guys

Or this Grandfather tree

Sister Cawley looks like a Hobbit next to a large Redwood

There are many vineyards along the way showing off their fall colors

Every night we receive phone calls from the missionaries.  Tonight's phone call
was to tell us that a wall got in the way of a good basketball game.  Add that to our list
